Welcome to Peel Park Surgery, All patients cared at Peel park surgery have a named GP Dr P Jha who is responsible for patients’ overall care at the practice, you are welcome to contact the practice if you wish to know who this is, if you have a preference as to which GP that is, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.
Dr Poonam Jha is a single handed Practitioner practising from a surgery within a purpose built Health Centre with all modern facilities. The surgery is near to bus route 645 and 646.There are no steps, allowing disabled patients full and easy access to facilities. There is ample parking space and a pharmacy is attached to the Health Centre.

STAY AT HOME
The Practice is open and we are offering telephone, video and online consultation appointments. please ring the surgery and a clinician will contact you during the day to deal with your concern.
You will now be asked to wear a face covering if you are coming to our GP practice for an appointment. This will help protect you, other patients in the waiting area, and staff.
Face coverings should not be used by children under the age of 3 or those who may find it difficult to manage them correctly. For example, primary age children unassisted, or those with respiratory conditions.
Face coverings can help stop the spread of coronavirus by preventing you from inadvertently passing on the disease to others if you have it but are not showing symptoms. By wearing a face covering, you’ll be helping us to make sure our GP practices remain safe places for people to receive care.
It’s important to remember that, it’s still so important to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds on a regular basis.
If you are unable to provide your own face covering, we can provide you with one of our face masks. However, please be considerate as these masks are the supply which is used by our staff.

Important information about the coronavirus (COVID-19)
In summary, this means that in Bradford and district you must not:
- meet people you do not live with inside a private home or garden, except where you have formed a support bubble (or for other limited exemptions to be specified in law).
- visit someone else’s home or garden even if they live outside of the affected areas.
- socialise with people you do not live with in other indoor public venues – such as pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, places of worship, community centres, leisure and entertainment venues, or visitor attractions. You may attend these venues with people you live with (or are in a support bubble with), but should avoid interaction with others.

- Given the worrying infection rate across the district, Bradford Council is advising those that are shielding to protect themselves, not to take an unnecessary risk and not to follow the new shielding guidelines as of the 1 August 2020.
- What to do if you are shielding
- Keep your distance - keep at least 2 metres (3 steps) away from anyone you don’t live with.
- Face coverings - always wear a face covering when in a shop, on public transport and when you can’t follow the 2 metre rule
- Hygiene is key – wash your hands with soap and warm water often
- No handshake, no hugs, hands off - avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- Think of others - cough or sneeze into your elbow
- Get tested - if you have a high temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss/change in your sense of taste or smell
- Stay safe - do not meet people you do not live with inside a private home or garden, except where you have formed a support bubble
- Do not visit - someone else’s home or garden even if they live outside of the district
- Stay indoors - isolate at home for 10 days if you have symptoms and 14 days if you live with someone who has symptoms
- No events - do not socialise with people you do not live with in other indoor public venues.
- Don’t spit - if you are infected, spitting will increase the chance of the virus and other germs spreading

Where to get extra support
Bradford Council will continue to offer support through the 01274 431000 number for those who are unable to leave the house.
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.

GP hubs to help people with coronavirus symptoms see their GP
Four GP hubs will manage the urgent primary medical needs of patients who have possible symptoms of coronavirus, or are self-isolating as part of a household. They will look after you if you have any medical problem that does not require treatment at a hospital and would normally be provided by your own family doctor (GP).
The red hubs, which are being phased in from 1 April 2020, are in the following locations:
We expect that these hubs will serve a small number of patients who have possible symptoms of coronavirus, and/or who are self-isolating as part of a household, and need to urgently see a GP in person.
The GP practices based at each of the four hub sites remain open but have temporarily relocated. They will continue to offer services to their patients from the following locations:
- Silsden Medical Practice will operate from Steeton Surgery
- Shipley Medical Centre will operate from Westcliffe Health Centre
- Manningham Health Centre will operate from Clarenden Medical Centre - Alice Street
- Horton Bank Top surgery will operate from The Ridge Medical Practice
All GP practices in Bradford district and Craven can request an appointment for patients at these hubs. However, your GP practice will assess you first, via a telephone, video or e-consultation and will then give you a time when a GP from the “red” hub will call you back. After a further telephone assessment, the GP at the “red” hub will decide whether or not you need a face-to-face appointment. You will be offered an appointment at a hub only if the GP believes that:
- you are in urgent need of a face-to-face GP appointment (and the issue cannot be resolved by a telephone, video or e-consultation), and
- you have possible symptoms of coronavirus, or
- you are self-isolating in a household
You will not receive a test for Coronavirus (COVID-19) at these hubs. At present these are only done if you are admitted to hospital with a COVID-like illness.
Please note that these hubs are not walk-in centres. Appointments can only be made following an assessment by our GP practice first. If an appointment is booked for you at the hub, you will be advised of what to do to ensure your care can be provided in a way that is safe for you and our staff.
