Home Visits

Home visits are available to those patients who are unable to attend the surgery due to being housebound by their medical condition. Please telephone before 10am if possible although requests after this time will always be dealt with.

The receptionist will require as much information as possible to assist the doctor in assessing the priority. A doctor will ring you to discuss your request before visiting and may ask you to attend the surgery. Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time it takes to do one home visit.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years. 

You can request a home visit by contacting the surgery you will then be assessed by the GP via a telephone call, the GP will discuss your needs and will arrange the visit with you.

GENERAL APPOINTMENTS

The practice operates an advanced access system to assist our patients in gaining timely appointments with a Health Care Professional.

URGENT APOINTMENTS

All patients who need to be seen urgently will be seen on the same day. Patients seen as an emergency will be expected to wait until a gap arises in the doctor’s surgery.

BE ON TIME

If you are late for your appointment you may be asked to rearrange your appointment for another day.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS POLICY 

Peel Park Surgery is dedicated to providing a high standard of care and service to all our patients. One extremely important factor is making sure we have enough appointments and missing an appointment without telling us is not acceptable.We have a new policy with effect from 01/07/13 of noting any missed appointments.

FIRST MISSED APPOINTMENT:

If you do not come to an appointment, or if you cancel your appointment at such short notice that we are unable to offer it to another patient, you may receive a warning letter.

SECOND MISSED APPOINTMENT:

If you miss 2 appointments you will receive a warning letter to say that if you miss any more appointments you will be taken off our medical list.

THIRD MISSED APPOINTMENT:

Your name will be removed from our list unless there are exceptional circumstances to be considered. The doctor would then make a decision accordingly.
